The polenta that we sell is fine and a rich golden yellow. Polenta is cornmeal and it is a staple of Italian cooking.
– You can cook it on the top of the cooker, pour it into a greased baking tray, leave to solidify, then cut it into pieces and grill it in a griddle pan and serve with herby sausages cooked in garlic and tomato sauce.
– Fry a piece of cooked polenta after it is had hardened and cooled and top with parmesan and tomato sauce.
– Make it ahead for a dinner party starter and serve it with pepperonata or roast peppers.
– Creamy polenta dolloped onto a plate with a duck and red wine sauce is just stunning. Make sure you have enough sauce for the polenta to soak up. Instead of red wine sauce you could just drizzle the duck with our Castle Leslie Balsamic and Fig Reduction (click on the related link below).
