This fruity peppery extra virgin olive oil comes from the Umbria region of Italy and is made from the first pressing of the olives. It consists of 85% Maraiolo olives which gives the oil a fruity tone with a pepperiness at the finish.
The last 15% is made of Frantoio and Leccino olives which gives the oil its intense green colour and a soft and delicate taste.
It's a perfect oil for everyday use for salad dressings and cooking. (Though most celebrity food writers say not to use extra virgin olive oil to cook with, the Italians say it adds a depth of flavour and are very generous with it. We're on the side of the Italians).
